Kyoko's Bio

Hi!! My name is Kyoko Nakano. I'm born in US, so I want to know about culture and life of my birthplace (birth country), that's why I came to FL.

My English name is Katie. I'm from Saitama, the city next to Tokyo. My family is Mother (Yuriko), Father (Shigeyuki), dog (Katie lol) and me. I like playing soccer, and I play as a "midfielder "at my school in Japan. Two weeks have passed since I arrived at FL. Host family is warm and kind, I have no homesickness. I miss my friends, of course, but I don't want to go back to Japan now. Needless to say, I want to make many many friends in FL!! I wish I could speak more English... Well... EXPERIENCE IS THE MOTHER OF WISDOM. I'll do my best!!! hahaha :-D

September 11 Journal

Hola! Todo va bien? Yep, I'm studying Spanish :) It's hard for me to learn two languages at same time. Well...it's easier than AP US History though. History class drives me crazy. A thick textbook, many work sheets, difficult representations, etc. Anyway, I got A's on my grades so far, except English and Spanish. Yep, I got an A on History too!! :D There's a trick to it, but I won't tell you guys now, lol.

Let's stop talking about studying. I was worried about making friends, but now I have many friends, and they help me a lot in many ways. I'm having a great time in FL. I really love my family, and I can't express how much I appreciate them. I like watching movies, shopping, cooking, talking, etc. You know what I mean? I'm doing all of them with my family. They are wonderful parents and also great teachers. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Do you guys know what "pep rally" is? It's an event that peps up football players before their football game. I'm sorry, I don't have any interest in football, but "pep rally" is soooo much fun!!\(^▽^\)(/^▽^)/ It's just like in some American movie! Marching band (drums were awesome), cheerleaders, school mascot (which is an eagle by the way), football players (of course). They're very different from Japan!! It's awesome.

Let me tell you about food. Most Japanese foods are Americanized. (Taka should agree with me:)) So, I'll tell y'all of a real Japanese food restaurant, if I could find it ;) How about your country's food? I know there's Thai food restaurants in FL. Enough talk of food. I need to develop my abdominal muscles, just for keeping my shape. hahaha

Orientation camp was great! I met many nice people and they made me want to work harder on my English skills. I'll study hard. From now on, we'll be sharing our experience, and at last we (I) can make friends all over the world!! How exciting!! This program is super!!! Thank you for giving me such a wonderful chance. I cannot wait until next orientation! I miss y'all!! Bye

December 14 Journal and Pictures

Howdy y'all? I was kinda neglecting to write new journal though, finally, I put some pics from DISNEY WORLD, and some from Gulten's B-day party, see underneath. There's soooo many things to do here, you know. Halloween, Homecoming, Thanksgiving, Disney trip, Christmas, and we have to take exams too (unfortunately, lol).

Well, thank god, I had great time every single events!! Christmas wasn't over yet though, I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna have great time again ;) Thank you Rotary!!!!! I wish all of u guys a very merry Christmas!!! I'll see y'all at new year's party, hopefully. It's getting cold, so take care!

-Kyoko Nakano
